What happens after you send the form
We designed the quote process to be quick for you and accurate for your bathroom. Here is exactly what happens.
- You send the form or call 1-888-779-2284. Name, phone, ZIP or postal code and whether you want installation or delivery are all we need to start.
- A specialist calls you back. We confirm who will use the tub, any mobility needs, and the basics of the bathroom.
- We check your address. For installation, we confirm one-day installation availability for your ZIP code. For delivery, we confirm freight to your address, including Canada.
- We confirm measurements. Using your numbers or photos, we confirm the tub space, doorways, water heater and electrical.
- We recommend two or three tubs. Different sizes, door styles or therapy options, with the pros and cons of each.
- You receive a written quote. Tub, options, installation or freight, warranty and any likely extra work, all itemized.
- You decide when you are ready. Share it with your family, compare it with other quotes and call us with questions. There is no deadline.
What your written quote includes
A good quote should let you compare it line by line with anyone else’s. Ours includes:
| Quote item | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Make and model | Exact tub, size and door direction (inward, outward or transfer) |
| Therapy options | Soaking, air, water or dual system, and any heated backrest or in-line heater |
| Faucet and drain | Fast-fill faucet, single or dual drain |
| Wall finish | Wall kit or extension panels, color and size |
| Installation scope | Removal and disposal, plumbing, electrical, leveling, testing and cleanup |
| Freight (DIY orders) | Delivery to your address, plus brokerage and duty for Canada |
| Possible extra work | Items like subfloor repair or drain relocation, with a stated range |
| Warranty | Manufacturer warranty terms and our 1-year labor warranty |
We do not bundle everything into one mystery number, and we do not publish a price list that ignores your bathroom. Published national estimates, such as Fixr’s 2026 range of $3,500 to $10,000 installed with a $6,000 average, are a useful starting point. Your written quote replaces that estimate with a real number for your home.

Show the numbers
| Source | Low | High | Typical |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fixr | $3,500 | $10,000 | $6,000 |
| This Old House | $1,800 | $20,000 | $4,600 |
| Retirement Living | $4,000 | $22,100 | $13,100 |
Installation quote or delivery quote?
Choose the option that fits your situation. You can change your mind later.
One-day installation quote
Best if you want one team to handle everything. Our factory-certified installers remove the old tub, connect plumbing and any electrical, finish the walls, test the door seal, fill, drain and jets, clean up and walk you through the controls. In most homes this happens in one day once the tub has arrived. One-day installation is available in many U.S. areas, and we confirm yours when we call. Learn more about installation day.
DIY delivery quote
Best if you have your own plumber or contractor, live outside our installation areas, or are in Canada. We ship the tub to your door and send spec sheets and rough-in dimensions to your installer before delivery. Learn more about buying a walk-in tub online.
Not sure yet?
Choose “Not sure yet, help me decide” on the form. We will explain both options for your situation and quote whichever makes more sense.
Information that makes your quote faster and more accurate
You can request a quote with only your name, phone and ZIP code. But the more we know, the more precise the first recommendation will be. If you have them, these details help:
- Tub or shower space: length and width, measured at the floor, middle and top.
- Faucet and drain side: left or right as you face the tub.
- Bathroom door width and any tight hallway turns.
- Water heater: tank size in gallons, gas or electric.
- Electrical: whether there is an outlet or spare circuit near the bathroom, if you want jets.
- The bather: height, and whether they use a cane, walker or wheelchair.
- Photos: the tub from the doorway, the faucet wall and the water heater label.
- Any therapist recommendations, especially for wheelchair transfers.
Our measuring guide shows exactly where to put the tape measure, and our water heater guide has a quick calculator.
How to compare walk-in tub quotes
Whether you get one quote or five, compare them the same way.
- Compare the same tub type. A soaking tub and a dual-jet tub are not the same product.
- Check the door direction and threshold. These decide how easy the tub is to use every day.
- Check the seat width and height. Especially for larger or taller bathers.
- Check what installation includes. Removal, plumbing, electrical, wall finish, testing and cleanup.
- Check possible extra costs. Subfloor repair, drain relocation and electrical work should be addressed up front.
- Compare warranties. What is covered, for how long, and whether labor is included.
- Check who installs. Factory-certified installers who follow the manufacturer’s specifications protect your warranty.
- Watch for pressure tactics. Same-day-only prices are a red flag. A fair offer is still fair tomorrow.
Our walk-in tub cost guide explains every quote item in detail.
Quotes for Canadian homeowners
We quote walk-in tubs for delivery anywhere in Canada. Your quote should include the tub, options and freight to your address, plus customs brokerage and any duties or taxes so the delivered price is complete. Keep your invoice: the federal Home Accessibility Tax Credit lets eligible Canadians claim up to $20,000 of qualifying renovation expenses per year for a senior or a person eligible for the disability tax credit, for a credit of up to $3,000. The CRA requires invoices that identify the vendor, describe the goods or work, and show the amount and payment.
Quotes for grant and funding applications
Many funding programs need a written estimate before they approve anything. If you are applying to the VA HISA grant, a Medicaid waiver, a Medicare Advantage plan, a USDA Section 504 grant or a local program, tell us. We will prepare an itemized quote and product specification sheets describing the tub’s safety features, which programs often ask for. See our Medicare, grants and tax credits guide for details on each program.
Quotes for contractors and facilities
If you are a contractor, remodeler, care home or property manager, choose “A client or care facility” on the form and tell us about the project. We quote walk-in tubs, transfer tubs and roll-in showers for delivery to the jobsite anywhere in the US and Canada, with spec sheets for your team.
What changes the number on a quote
Two families can choose the same tub and receive different quotes. Here is why, using common situations we see every week.
The straightforward swap. An existing 60-inch tub, drain on the correct side, sound floor, a 50-gallon water heater and a soaking tub with no jets. This is the simplest installation, and the quote is mostly the tub and standard labor.
The jetted upgrade. The same bathroom, but the family chooses a dual-jet tub with a heated backrest. Now the quote adds the therapy system and a dedicated GFCI circuit. If the electrical panel is full or far away, that line grows.
The hidden damage. A tub-for-tub swap where the old tub has leaked for years. When the tub comes out, the subfloor is soft. Our quote lists this possibility in advance with a range, so it is not a surprise, and the repair is done before the new tub goes in.
The shower conversion. The home has only a stall shower, and the family wants a compact walk-in tub. Moving the drain, adding a tub filler and finishing the walls adds labor and may add a second day.
The large tub and small heater. A two-seat tub in a home with a 40-gallon water heater. Either the tub choice changes, or the quote adds a larger or tankless water heater, or an in-line heater.
The long-distance delivery. A DIY order to a rural address or to Canada. The quote shows freight to the door, plus brokerage and duty for Canada, and no installation labor, since the family’s own plumber installs it.
Choosing between the models in your quote
We usually recommend two or three tubs. Here is how to choose between them.
- Start with safe entry. The door style and threshold height should match how the bather moves today and in a few years.
- Then check fit. Seat width, knee room and interior length should suit the bather’s body.
- Then decide on comfort. Soaking only, air jets, water jets or both, plus heated backrest.
- Then check the practical side. Water heater capacity, electrical needs and how the tub fits the bathroom.
- Finally compare warranties. Especially on door seals, motors and heaters.
If two options feel equally good, choose the one with the better warranty and the simpler controls.
After you accept your quote
Once you are ready, here is what happens next.
- Order confirmation. We confirm the exact model, options, door direction and drain side in writing.
- Delivery estimate. We give you a realistic delivery time based on the model and availability.
- Scheduling. For installation, we schedule your installation day. For delivery, we coordinate with the freight carrier and share spec sheets with your installer.
- Preparation. We send a short checklist: clear the bathroom, clear the path, arrange parking and plan for pets.
- Installation or delivery day. Our installers complete the job and walk you through the tub, or the tub arrives for your installer.
- Follow-up. We check in after your first few baths to make sure everything is working and comfortable.
Check your hot water before you choose
Your quote will note whether your water heater can comfortably fill the tub you pick. You can check it yourself now.
Will your water heater fill a walk-in tub?
Pick your numbers. The math runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
Assumes a 120°F heater setting and that roughly 70% of a tank’s rated capacity comes out hot before the temperature drops. The first-hour rating on your heater’s yellow EnergyGuide label is the more exact number.
Print-and-keep quote checklist
Keep this list beside you when you review any quote.
- Exact make, model and size.
- Door direction and threshold height.
- Seat width and height.
- Therapy system, if any.
- Faucet and drain type.
- Wall finish.
- Removal and disposal of the old tub.
- Plumbing and electrical scope.
- Possible extra work, with ranges.
- Freight, brokerage and duty (delivery orders).
- Manufacturer warranty and labor warranty in writing.
- Name and phone number of the person who will answer your questions.
Quote mistakes to avoid
- Comparing a soaking tub quote to a jetted tub quote. Make sure you are comparing the same kind of tub.
- Ignoring the door direction. A tub that is cheaper but opens the wrong way for your bathroom is not a bargain.
- Skipping the water heater question. A tub your heater cannot fill will leave you with lukewarm baths or a second purchase.
- Accepting a lump sum. Ask for the tub, options and labor separately.
- Not asking about extra work. Subfloor, drain and electrical questions should be answered before you sign.
- Deciding under pressure. If a price is only good today, walk away and compare.
- Forgetting the warranty. Compare what is covered and for how long, including labor.
Questions to ask about any quote
- Is this exact model the right size for the bather, not just the bathroom?
- What will happen if you find water damage when the old tub comes out?
- Does the price include a new electrical circuit if the tub needs one?
- Will the tub fit through my doors and hallway?
- Can my water heater fill this tub with hot water?
- What does the warranty cover on the door seal, motors and heater?
- Who do I call if something goes wrong after installation?
- When can the tub realistically be delivered or installed?
Understanding delivery times
Walk-in tubs are large, specialized products, and availability changes during the year. Some popular models ship quickly; others are built or configured to order. Your quote will include a realistic delivery estimate for the model you choose. If timing is critical, tell us, and we will point you to models and options that can arrive sooner. It is better to know the true timeline up front than to be promised a date that cannot be met.
Canadian quote questions
Canadian customers often ask a few extra questions when they request a quote.
- Is the price in U.S. or Canadian dollars? Your written quote will state the currency clearly.
- Who handles customs? Ask us how brokerage is handled for your order and what it will cost, so the delivered price is complete.
- Are duties or taxes charged at the border? Your quote should address this so there are no surprises at delivery.
- Can I claim the Home Accessibility Tax Credit? Walk-in bathtubs are commonly listed as eligible, and our invoice includes the details the CRA asks for. Confirm your situation with a tax professional.
- Who installs it? A local licensed plumber, and an electrician if the tub has jets or a heater. We send them the spec sheets.
What your quote will not include
Just as important as what a quote contains is what it leaves out. Our quotes will never include a surprise “processing fee,” a “today only” discount that disappears tomorrow, or a financing pitch you did not ask for. They also will not include products you do not need. If a feature is optional, the quote says so, and you can remove it. If a less expensive model fits your bathroom and meets the bather’s needs, we will show it to you side by side with the more expensive option, and explain the real difference between them in plain language.
Getting a second opinion
If you already have a quote from another company, you are welcome to send it to us. We will tell you honestly whether it looks fair for the tub and work described, point out anything that seems missing, and quote a comparable option if we carry one. Sometimes the best advice we can give is that the quote you already have is a good one.
A quote is the start of a conversation
A written quote is not a contract you have to sign. It is a clear starting point for a decision. Read it, share it, question it, and ask us to change the model or options if something does not feel right. The best walk-in tub is the one that fits the bather, fits the bathroom and fits the budget, and a good quote is simply the tool that helps you find it.

- Hydro Dimensions’ lifetime tub warranty on the shell, frame, door seal, motors and parts, plus our 1-year labor warranty on every order.
- Honest, written, itemized quotes with no same-day pressure.
Your privacy
When you request a quote, we use your name, phone, email and address details only to respond to your request and prepare your quote. We never sell your information. See our privacy policy for details.
Why the numbers matter to families
Families often ask whether a walk-in tub is worth the expense. The data on bathroom safety is part of the answer. In the CDC’s study of bathroom injuries treated in U.S. emergency rooms, injury rates rose sharply with age, reaching 515 per 100,000 among adults 85 and older, and most injuries were caused by falls.
Source: CDC, MMWR 60(22), “Nonfatal Bathroom Injuries Among Persons Aged ≥15 Years — United States, 2008” (2011), Table 1.
Show the numbers
| Age group | Injuries per 100,000 |
|---|---|
| Ages 15–24 | 58.8 |
| 25–34 | 73.1 |
| 35–44 | 76.0 |
| 45–54 | 70.5 |
| 55–64 | 84.8 |
| 65–74 | 112.1 |
| 75–84 | 241.0 |
| 85 and older | 515.3 |
The rest of the answer is independence. AARP’s 2024 survey found that 75% of adults 50 and older want to stay in their current homes as they age. A safe way to bathe is one of the most important parts of making that possible.
What we will ask you on the call
So there are no surprises, here are the questions a specialist will usually ask when we call you back. You do not need perfect answers; approximate ones are fine.
- Who will use the tub, and roughly how tall are they?
- What is the hardest part of bathing today: stepping in, sitting down, standing up or getting out?
- Is a cane, walker or wheelchair used, now or likely in the next few years?
- Is the tub going where a tub is now, or where a shower is now?
- Is the bathroom on the main floor or upstairs?
- Do you want jets, or is a deep, warm soak enough?
- How big is your water heater?
- Is there a timeline, such as a hospital discharge or a visit from family?
- Are you applying to any funding programs that need paperwork?
- Would you like installation, delivery, or help deciding?
These answers let us narrow dozens of possible models to the two or three that actually make sense for your home. Most calls take ten to fifteen minutes.
If you are in a hurry
Sometimes the need is urgent: a parent is coming home from rehab next week, or a fall has just happened. Tell us on the form or on the phone. We will be honest about what is realistic for delivery and installation in your time frame, and we will suggest temporary measures, such as a tub transfer bench and a handheld shower, to keep bathing safer until the new tub is in.
Frequently asked questions
Is the walk-in tub quote really free?
Yes. The consultation and written quote are free, with no obligation to buy.
How quickly will you contact me?
A specialist calls you back after you send the form. If you would like to talk right away, call 1-888-779-2284.
Do I need an in-home visit to get a quote?
Usually not. Measurements and a few photos let us give an accurate recommendation. Installers confirm conditions as part of installation.
Why don’t you show prices online?
Because an accurate price depends on your tub choice and your bathroom: plumbing, electrical, water heater and floor condition. We give you a written, itemized quote instead of a number that might not apply to your home.
What is included in an installation quote?
The tub and options, removal and disposal of the old tub, plumbing and any electrical connection, leveling, wall finish, testing, cleanup and a walkthrough, plus the manufacturer warranty and our 1-year labor warranty.
Can I get a quote for delivery only?
Yes. Choose DIY delivery on the form. We quote the tub, options and freight to your address anywhere in the US or Canada.
Can you provide a quote for my VA or Medicaid application?
Yes. We prepare itemized quotes and product specifications that funding programs often require.
Will you share my information?
No. We use your information only to respond to your request and never sell it.
